Hi my name is Chris Parish and this webiste is in memory of my friend Daniela. NAMPA — An 11-year-old girl was at the wheel when an accident Monday afternoon claimed the life of a local teen-ager, sheriff’s investigators say.
Daniela Bistriceanu, 15, was killed when her car left the roadway and overturned. Daniela told the 11-year-old she could drive, Daniela’s sister Viorica, 13, a passenger in the car, said.
“They lost control,” Viorica said.
The car left Locust Lane, just east of Tio Lane south of Nampa, around 2 p.m.
The sheriff’s office said Daniela wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car, which rolled on top of her.
Investigators don’t know whether citations will be issued as a result of the crash.
Viorica and the 11-year-old driver were wearing seat belts and remained in the car. Both were taken to Mercy Medical Center, treated and sent home.
Viorica said Daniela, a Skyview High School student who would have entered her sophomore year in the fall, was especially close to her brothers and sisters. She played basketball in the eighth and ninth grades and enjoyed playing pool. Viorica said Daniela was known for her sense of humor and her ability to make a point.
She is survived by an older brother, Octavian, 17, another sister, Elana, 4, and her parents, George and Nina Bistriceanu.
“She was a very loving person,” Viorica said of her sister.
“She was a wonderful person, an excellent Christian and student,” her cousin and close friend, Adla Vulcan, said.
